Introduction

StayGreenly exists to promote sustainable living, connection with nature, and low-impact accommodation through a network of certified glamping sites.
This Code of Conduct outlines the standards expected of all members and certified landowners, and ensures that all activities carried out under the StayGreenly name are responsible, respectful, and environmentally conscious.

General Principles
​
All members and site operators agree to:

Respect the natural world, including wildlife, habitats, and rural communities

Minimise disturbance to the land, ecosystems, and local residents

Follow the Leave No Trace principle at all times
-
Support StayGreenly’s mission of sustainability, ecological enhancement, and low-impact living
Guest Member Responsibilities

Guest members agree to:

Respect quiet hours and avoid disturbing others or the environment

Use only biodegradable products where possible
-
Keep pets under control and remove all waste
-
Take all rubbish and belongings away on departure
-
Avoid open fires unless explicitly permitted by the site owner
Certified Landowner Responsibilities

Landowner members applying for certification must:

Operate with a clear commitment to environmental sustainability
-
Provide only non-permanent, movable glamping units (e.g. shepherd huts, cabins on skids, trailers)
-
Limit the site to a maximum of 5 units at any one time
-
Avoid permanent infrastructure such as concrete pads, hardstanding, or buried services (unless removable or clearly justified)
-
Ensure all guests are fully enrolled StayGreenly members
-
Maintain accurate guest records for inspection upon request
-
Uphold basic site safety (access, fire precautions, clean water, waste)
Minimum Site Rules (Required for All Certified Locations)

All StayGreenly-certified sites must enforce the following baseline rules for guests:

No excessive noise after 10:00pm (quiet hours 10pm–7am)
-
No amplified music or generators, unless specifically permitted by the landowner and clearly advertised on the site listing
-
Fires and firepits are only permitted where explicitly authorised by the landowner and subject to local restrictions
-
No littering, dumping of waste, or grey water run-off onto the ground
-
No permanent storage of vehicles, caravans, or materials on site
-
All units must remain mobile and removable, in accordance with the exemption rules
-
Pets must be under control at all times, and owners must clean up after them
-
Maximum of 5 units in use at any one time
-
Guests must be StayGreenly members and have joined the club prior to arrival
Landowners may add stricter rules based on their land, local policies, or neighbour agreements.
Ecological Enhancements

Landowners must commit to enhancing the ecological value of their site by implementing at least one of the following:

Planting native trees, hedgerows, or wildflower margins

Creating or restoring habitats such as ponds, meadows, or bee banks
-
Reducing mowing to support pollinators
-
Installing bird, bat, or insect boxes
-
Maintaining buffer zones around sensitive areas
StayGreenly will plant five native trees for every site certified through the club, in partnership with its members.
Insurance and Legal Responsibility

Landowners are responsible for securing public liability insurance for their site.

The club accepts no liability for loss, damage, or injury unless resulting from its own negligence
Site Oversight and Compliance

StayGreenly reserves the right to conduct site inspections before or after certification is issued.

Sites may be subject to periodic review to ensure continued compliance with club standards.

Landowners must provide access and cooperate with any reasonable request by the committee.
Complaints and Dispute Resolution

Complaints should be submitted to staygreenly@outlook.com

The club will acknowledge all complaints within 5 working days and aim to resolve them within 14 working days
-
Serious or repeated breaches may result in suspension or removal of certification
-
Affected members or landowners may submit a written appeal within 14 days of a decision
Breaches and Sanctions
Breaches of this Code may result in:

Written warning
-
Temporary suspension of certification or membership
-
Permanent revocation of certification or membership, at the discretion of the committee

By joining StayGreenly as a member or certified landowner, you agree to uphold this Code of Conduct and support the club’s vision of responsible, nature-connected recreation.
